When RIM brought out their Blackberry Bold range we thought the world could not be a better place and then they went ahead and released the Blackberry Javelin 8900!

The Blackberry Javelin is touted as a new, improved version of the Blackberry Bold and the publicity does not lie. For a start it has a better display than the BlackBerry Bold. Hard to imagine, but true. The Javelin 8900 has a smaller screen but a higher, 480 x 360 pixel resolution which more than makes up for it providing crisp, clear images which you simply do not expect on a smartphone screen. This makes it perfect for reading documents, reports and eBooks.

In addition to greater screen resolution the Blackberry Javelin sports an improved camera over the Blackberry Bold taking the Blackberry range firmly out of the boardroom and into any arena where you can have fun in.  A 3.2 Megapixel camera, with a glass cover protecting the lens and flash Makes the Javelin perfect for shutterbugs who also happen to be business power users.

The Blackberry Javelin, classic QWERTY keypad resembles the BlackBerry 8700. The navigation buttons are also smaller than the Bold’s and you may be able to change the trackball color to gray or black to suit your style taste.
Where the BlackBerry Javelin gives impeccable playphone credentials is in the very different side layout. The right side of the BlackBerry Javelin features a headphone jack and Micro-USB controls in addition to volume controls and convenience key.

All in all this is a strong message from RIM that finally Blackberry, a name to be reckoned with in the power user, businessman on the move, arena, has finally also moved into the fun side of things where style matters every bit as quality.
The Blackberry Javelin, alongside its sibling, the Blackberry Bold are the clearest message yet regarding the move.
