  • Most common webcam problems

Posted on September 1, 2008 by David

Here are answers to the most common problems encountered when setting up and using your webcam.

    My webcam won't install properly

If you are having trouble installing your Logitech webcam (in Windows), please try the following steps:

    1. Unplug the webcam
    2. Uninstall the QuickCam software
    3. Reboot your computer
    4. Make sure you have the latest QuickCam software. You can download it here as one big file, or here in smaller parts. This software is for the QuickCam Express, Pro 3000, Pro 4000, Messenger, Web, and Zoom. You should also make sure that you are running DirectX 8.1 or higher, which is available through your windows update feature if not yet installed.
    5. Install the QuickCam software. Plug in your webcam only when prompted to by the software.

My webcam has blurry or grainy video

Logitech customer support has provided us with some tips on improving webcam image quality:

First, it’s important to have proper lighting conditions to obtain optimal performance. Here are some lighting scenarios below and ways that you can improve image quality:

Low Light: If you are using the QuickCam in a low-light environment and the image is dark, select the “Low Light Boost” option control in the “Camera/Settings” dialog. If the image still appears dark, additional light will be needed.

Back-Lighting: Make sure there is ample light directly on the subject you are recording. If the image closest to the camera appears dark and the background appears bright, adjust lighting accordingly to highlight the subject.

Fluorescent Lighting: It is important to have the correct “Anti Flicker” setting to prevent flickering or banding of the image under fluorescent lighting conditions. The “Anti-flicker” control is available in the “Camera/Settings” dialog.

Finally, if you have a blurry image, remember that your webcam has a focus ring built-in to the front. Just turn it to adjust focus accordingly.

If your webcam only produces white screens, black screens, or if there are vertical lines in the video, you likely have a defective unit. Please contact us to request a replacement.

If you are looking to purchase a new webcam and you are not sure which model would be best for you you should check out our handy webcam guide.

  • Installing and Setting up your netgear wireless router

Posted on September 1, 2008 by David

This guy was writen for a customer but I decided to make public, It is for installing and setting up a netgear wireless router only!

Ok firstly print out this guide if you can. If you dont have a printer then copy and paste it into wordpad.

Disconect you modem's power cable, unplug the ethernet cable that is runing from your modem and plugged into your computer.
plug the ethernet cable from the modem into the wireless router into the jack that is to the right, its the "lone" port.
Then plug the ethernet cable from your computer into the router, there are 4 ports, just take any of em. Once done turn on the modem and wait 30 seconds. Then turn on the router and wait a few seconds.

Make sure you use the computer that is plugged
into the router. Open your internet browser and type in the following
192.168.0.1 It will prompt you for a user name and password so just enter
"admin" and "password" It will then prompt you to run the wizard which you
should click Yes. You will most probably need to enter in your internet provider
user name and password, If you do not have this info call them up for it.

Do not change the channels or anything, If you wish to create a WEP encrypted network,
It will generate a SSID number for you which you enter into the other computers
when accessing the network. Please note that the imposibally long SSID number
only needs to be enterd once on computers conecting wirelessly.

Once the wizard completes it will direct you to netgear's website which means you set it up
successfully. If you wish to add additional computers, if they are runing
windows XP they will automaticaly detect the network so you just click "conect
to wireless network" and you are on! You might have to run the network setup
wizard which is found in "network conections" and make sure to choose "this
computer conects to the internet through a residental gateway etc...." there
is no need to make a network disk.

The router should come with a black plastic craddle, use this to hold the router sideways up which will save you desk space.

Turn the router upside down with the antena side being ontop, then slide that
plastic point into the open hole on the router and kind of pull it down locking
it in. You can also pull up the antenna for a better transmiting signal.

Check us out. Experience the freedom that comes from having the right wireless network for you and enjoy the experience.

  • A handy guide to buying a Logitech mouse

Posted on September 1, 2008 by David

So you need a new mouse but just can't decide which mouse you want and need. No surprise at all! I have sold thousands of mice over the years and I will try to give you the run down.

First and foremost you need to choose between wired and wireless. These days most of the new mice are mostly wireless, If you like to be free and move the mouse where ever you want without the hassle of wires, then you definitely want to pay the extra few bucks for wireless.

However there are many good solid wired mice which in some cases are even better then the wireless ones, The MX500 and the MX310 are killer gaming mice and should not be overlooked just because they are wired.

    Logitech MX310 Optical Mouse

    Logitech MX500 Optical Mouse

The Logitech Click! corded mouse is a solid and dependable work horse which is very cheap as well. It also happens to be my father's favorite mouse and he has been using the same one for a year and it works like new!

    Logitech Click! Optical Mouse

For Mac users there is good news, most Logitech mice are Mac compatible!

Logitech's most popular wireless mice are, the cordless click! and click! plus. The difference is mainly in design, The click! is a smaller normal sized and designed mouse with 4 buttons.

    Logitech Cordless Click!

The click! plus is a bit larger and has 6 buttons and a sweet design.

    Logitech Cordless Click! plus

Laser mice are more sleek and better overall performance but are not worth spending alot more money on unless you are a extreme gamer.

The Logitech G7 is the ultimate in precision and acceleration and can be found at incredibly low prices, as little as 60$ from my store for the G7! Feturing 2000 dpi laser engine for blinding speed and precision response. The G7´s full-speed, bi-directional USB connection sends a blazing 500 reports/second over 2.4 GHz wireless for a bulletproof connection.

    G7 absolutely stunning design!

For those of you wanting to get laser but dont want to fork over a fortune do not despair!

The MX600 is a sleek state of the art laser mouse which can be purchased for a mere 25$

    Logitech MX600 Cordless Laser Mouse

And believe it or not, Logitech has designed a mouse exclusively for left handers!
The Logitech MX610 left handed laser mouse is one of a kind designed for lefties (myself included!)

The MX610 does also come in right handed form, it features instant, one-touch access to email and messages. Buttons light up so you can see when new messages arrive from selected friends, even if you´re not in front of your PC. Easy to switch on or off and configure.

    Logitech MX610 Left-Hand Laser Mouse 30$ retail

Other mice include the Media play mouse which is a sleek stunning mouse which has all the full features of a top notch mouse and also serves as a remote control.

    Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse

Logitech makes a whole line of notebook mice. For more info on those see my review on laptop mice: http://reviews.ebay.com/Laptop-mouse-What-you-want-and-what-you-dont-want_W0QQugidZ10000000001247568

For those of you that like Trackballs, Logitech makes 4 diffrent model's. The now famous and legendary marble mouse, The trackman wheel, Cordless trackman wheel and the cordless optical trackman.

Overall my personal favorites are the LX7 cordless mouse which is just so stunningly beautifully, sleek with a rubber grip and invisible optical. It is a bit small but is just a pure dream mouse and a pleasure to hold! Definitely recommended to anyone that uses a mouse for work etc..

Logitech LX7 Cordless Optical Wireless USB Mouse

Most importantly!! I have sold over 50 diffrent model's of mice and used most of them. They key factor is design in comfort and in durability. You want a mouse that will respond well, feel good in your hand, look good on your desk, and not eat up your paycheck!

  • What to purchase and what to pay when building a wireless network

Posted on September 1, 2008 by David

For my introduction to wireless networks etc.. please see my guide "wireless networks A-Z.
After establishing which type of adapters and how many you
need, you can then figure out which types to buy. There are 4 main players in
the wireless field. D-link, Netgear, Linksys and Belkin. I personally am not
familiar with belkin products as I have never sold or used them and am not
    familiar with their prices.

    There are 3 standards out there now A, B and G. a newer X
standard is coming out in the near future. The A version is the first standard
and extremely problematic and unreliable that if you do have this I recommend
you not use it (even if someone is giving you it for free, it’s not worth the
aggravation and pain) B is about 4 years old and A LOT more reliable then A but
still has its issues. The newer and current version G is for the most part 100%
reliable though it is more expensive then the B versions. There is also a super G mode which is a double 108mb and can handle more traffic then the regular G.
Choosing which to get depends on your budget, needs and
usage. If for example you want to transfer large files wirelessly over the
network or download a movie onto your laptop while online wirelessly, or you
have a few computers going online wirelessly in the network you will need to use
G (54-108mb)But if you want to just go online for email etc.. And don’t have
many computers, and then I recommend you stick with B.As long as your card / router are “backwards compatible”
this means if say the router is B you can use a G card to connect to it and vice
    versa then you are ok!

I, use in my apartment by school a netgear WGT624 108mb
router and a netgear WG11U 802.11g double 108mb USB adapter on my laptop and it
works good. At home by my parents I use a WGT624 802.11g 108mb router and that
works amazing even in the backyard! So it all depends on how you want to use it
and how much you want to spend.

    Purchasing your items…- 802.11b
I firstly recommend you go with all products of the same
company if possible and not a lot more money. The reason for this is because
they will work smoother together and it will be easier to install and manage the
    manufacturer’s software this way.

Most importantly!! While generic products are cheaper and
may seem just as good. From my personal experience as a consumer and as a
seller... Generic products are no good and are mostly a waste of time and money.
Stick with the brand names even though it’s more expensive.
Wireless B routers should cost between 15-40$ depending on
the brand / model and condition; For example I sell the Linksys BEFW11S4 which is 802.11b and $39 I also sold the Linksys W11S4PC11 which was an 802.11b combo
of the router + laptop card for $50 Though to be honest my experience is mostly in Netgear and D-link when it comes to networking. I recommend the MR814 (v2 perferably) which retails about 25$

Laptop cards (PCMCIA) should cost you from 5-20$ again
depending on the brand / model and condition. I recommend D-link DWL-650 15$
Netgear MA521 15$ or for those that need 16 bit get the MA421 25$

USB should cost 15-20$ I recommend the MA111

    PCI 10-20$ Go with the MA311 15$ or the DWL-520 15$

    Purchasing items… 802.11g
    Wireless routers... 30-50$ I recommend Netgear WGR614 54mb
    30$ Netgear WGT624 108mb 40$ Netgear WGU624 double 108mb 45$ D-link DWL-G700AP
    54mb 47$ D-link DI-624 108mb 50$

    PCMCIA cards... 20-35$ go with Netgear WG511T 108mb 33$
    Netgear WG511U double 108mb 33$ D-link DWL-G630 25$ D-link DWL-G650 extreme G 108mb 35$

    PCI cards… 25-40$ go with Netgear WG311 54mb 25$ Netgear
    WG311T 108mb 30$ DWL-G520 108mb 35$
USB adapters... go with WG111 54mb 30$ but make sure not to
get a TIVO adapter if you don’t need TIVO it will cost more. For those that do need a TIVO compatible adapter, you need the version 1 but make sure it says TIVO compatible in the listing. Netgear WG11U double 108mb 40$ or the Linksys WUSB54GP USB 2.0 which is a standup antena adapter 35$
You can also buy a set / combo of the combined items at a cheaper price.

    Misc. Items.
MA701 11mb Compact flash card for PDA will give your (compatible) handhed device wireless. 35$

Kensigton WIFI + Bluetooth hotspot finder, a small keychain like device that will detect any wireless network in range. 20$
Netgear WGR101 this sweet handy little device is not only tiny, but is also a powerfull transmiter. You need only plug it into a existing wired ethernet jack / port / router and POOF your wireless! With a handy switch to go from public to private..30$

D-Link DP-311P wireless printer server. Just plug it in and your printer broadcasts wirelessly 40$

  • A guide to buying the perfect laptop mouse

Posted on September 1, 2008 by David

I'm a laptop guy, I just love laptop's not to mention that I need one for business..Now, many people don't like the touch pad or prefer to use a regular mouse which is just fine, the problem is there are about 2,000 different laptop mice out there..... Many are cheap and flashy and look good. BUT they are a pain in the butt to use. My friend has this tiny little mouse which is basically a round circle with 2 buttons on it and boy do I hate it!!

The reason Logitech and Labtec are world leaders is because they excel in making a mouse that is easy to use and high quality. Dont fall for the TINY mouse and especially not if you use a full sized mouse as well. Get a medium sized optical, corded or cordless mouse that you are used to, and make sure it has a scroll wheel.

Additionally, most wireless mice have a mini receiver that plugs right into your USB port and when not in use you can snap it into the bottom of the mouse

    .

Buying a mouse should cost you no more than 30$.

    Models I recommend:
Logitech V200 cordless optical mouse 15$

Labtec mini cordless mouse for notebooks 10$

Logitech V270 cordless optical notebook mouse for Bluetooth 30$

    Logitech mini notebook mouse 10$

Many prefer the V500, it has 5 way scrolling which is by touch / click.

V320 is a great notebook mouse. They go for about 15$

This is by far my personal favorite. The V400 is the Jeep of laptop mice!

The VX Revolution is the best notebook mouse on the market. It features amazing design, hyperfast scrolling, high resolution zoom, battery indicator, and performance laser. If you want a top of the line mouse.. I recommend this!
There are many more models out there that are good but I recommend the above, Read the product description before purchasing.

Remember! a laptop mouse is like buying a jeep, you need an ATV with 4 wheel drive because only god knows where you will be using the mouse..

They key factor is design in comfort and in durability. You want a mouse that will respond well, feel good in your hand, look good on your desk, and not eat up your paycheck!

    Email me with any questions!

So check us out. Experience the freedom that comes from having the perfect laptop mouse for you and enjoy the experience.

  • Building a wireless network from A to Z

Posted on September 1, 2008 by David

    Creating a wireless network...
The full, extended, revised and revived guide to wireless networks for both geniuses
    and dummies.

VERY IMPORTANT! If you knowledge of computers, networking, and hardware isnt good. I recommend that you buy products only from a seller that is going to help you out and in a extreme case accept a return. If your item is refurbished, the manufacterer will not provide technical support!
When in doubt, email the seller before purchasing,

*Note: I have decided to chop this up into 3 guides, This one being the introduction of wireless products, with the second guide being purchasing and the 3rd guide the actual setting up and installing*

It seems like an extremely hard, impossible, time
consuming, expensive and unnecessary job. In fact it’s quite easy, cheap and
valuable. I’ll start from the basics and work my way thru

Beginning with windows XP and the B version of wireless
networks. They have become not only reliable, but the standard of most networks.
Windows XP service pack 2 (sp2) and the introduction of the G version, a few
years ago. Has made wireless networks way more advanced and easy to use.

Nowadays a wireless network will cost about 30-75$ to buy
and 10-30 minutes to setup. Connecting is all automatic if using windows XP
service pack 2. I will explain what purchases are needed, how much to pay for
them, how to set them up and get the network running smoothly

    Why do I want wireless?
The advantages of going wireless are many! Say for instance
the modem (and router / hub) are in the living room next to your desktop. If
you have a laptop and want to use it in your office, bedroom, porch, backyard or
even on the couch. You will be required to get long Ethernet cords and string
them across the house in an often time consuming and haphazard setup. Not to
mention if you want to use it on a 2nd or 3rd floor of
    your house.

Additionally, you may have 1 or more desktop’s in other
rooms or would like to place them, but don’t want to drag an Ethernet cable
across the house. If you have more then one floor, wiring your house with
Ethernet cables may be very expensive.

You may have a handheld computer (PDA) that has wireless
built in and can access the network. Or you may have a gaming console (Xbox,
play station 2, PSP etc... that can hook up to a network wirelessly. If you have
a TIVO device hooked up to you TV you can plug a wireless USB adapter into the
back and connect it to your wireless network and access it from your computer.

    What is best for me?
Now that we have established the need for a wireless
network, we will discuss what YOU need to get your network running. First and
foremost you need a wireless router / access point. Most newer laptops have
built in wireless, and a desktop can use either a USB or PCI adapter as I will
    explain.

    Router / Access point.

You’ve seen the 2 but can’t seem to figure out the
difference, years ago neither could I. If you have DSL / Cable the chances are
you will have a modem which goes from your phone line and to your computer. In
this case you will need a Router which you will connect to the modem and then
plug into the computer (It has 4 ports (plugs) so you can connect more then one
computer wired) It will then broadcast your internet, allowing you to wirelessly
connect as many devices as you want.

If you previously have a wired router setup, you can
purchase just a wireless access point which is usually cheaper then a router and
also allows you to keep your existing router in place.

    PCI / USB. - Desktop.

Each has its pro’s and con’s. A PCI adapter is an internal
card that you plug into the motherboard. While generally better, faster, and
more reliable. Opening your computer up is not always a fun task for everyone
and may not be something you know how to do.

In which case you can go with a USB adapter, these are
small plugs or larger adapters with antennas that you plug into your USB port
and save you from having to open your computer up. Additionally if needed you
can just swap the adapter for use on another desktop and even your laptop. You
plug the USB plug into your USB port and it will connect to your wireless
    router.

    PCMCIA / USB / PCI. - Laptop
As with the desktop you have the options of either going
internal or external, however it’s much different with a Laptop. As I mentioned
earlier, most laptops these days come with internal wireless. If however you
have an older laptop or yours did not come with one, you have a few options.

The most common and recommended form is a PCMCIA card which
you plug into your PCMCIA port (located on the side of your laptop) You simply
push the card into the slot and when you want to carry your laptop etc.. You
press the eject button and the card pops out.

However there are those (myself included) who do not have a
working PCMCIA slot. If your slot breaks, sometimes the only way to fix it is by
replacing the motherboard. So in that case you will want to use a USB adapter.
They are small tiny adapters (the size of a pack of gum) that you attach to a
USB cord and connect to your USB port.

The 3rd form is PCI which like the desktop is
internal, while much more convenient eliminates the need to plug cards and
cables in and worrying about them breaking or getting lost. It is also a lot
more difficult to install as a laptop is more complicated then a desktop. If you
do choose to go with this, I recommend you bring it to a computer technician.

    TIVO.
If you have a TIVO system that you want to connect to your
network, you have a few options. You can go wired and purchase the Netgear
FA120, but as mentioned before, wires are very tedious and inconviant. Netgear
makes 2 models (that I know of) that are TIVO compatible. The MA111 802.11b 11mb
    version 1 And the WG111 802.11g 54mb version 1 I recommend getting a Netgear
router to connect these if you don’t already have a router.

Desktop / Laptop - Wired adapters...
Most wireless routers include 4 ports; these are slots were
you can plug Ethernet cables to and connect your desktop / laptop to the route.
It has some advantages; say you don’t need wireless on a particular laptop /
desktop and don’t want to spend the extra money. In that case you would need a
LAN PCI card for desktops, as mentioned earlier these are the cards you plug
inside the computer into the motherboard. Most desktops include these cards but
they do break etc... You can also purchase a USB – Ethernet adapter for use on
both desktop’s and laptops. Also for laptop’s you can use an Ethernet PCMCIA
card that has an adapter inside or a cheaper card with a dongle. It has a cord
that plugs in but is delicate so I don’t recommend them.

So check us out. Experience the freedom of a wireless network and enjoy the experience.

  • Choosing a webcam to buy

Posted on September 1, 2008 by David

Choosing which webcam to buy seems like a easy enough task. But in fact it can be very confusing and frustrating. Lets start from the basics:

If you have a flat panel monitor - LCD you will need a webcam that either was designed for flat panel's or includes a flat panel clip. Read the product description very carefully to see if the product includes the clip. Some do but others dont.

Price is always a major factor which is why Logitech. The worlds leader in webcams, makes about 30 different models. Decide how you are going to use the cam, are you going to be holding video conferences and want good quality ? Or do you just want to have a live cam up on a web page.
Usually a medium end camera will do the trick, here are a few cam's I recommend:

*NOTE: There are 2 versions to each cam, the older one is always cheaper however the newer one has more advanced features, is USB 2.0, has a flat panel clip and is alot sleeker.*

Quickcam messenger older model, built in mic and decent photo / video. 15$

Quickcam messenger 2.0 is Logitech's most solid cam at this price. USB 2.0, flat panel clip, good image and built in mic. 25-30$

The new and improved Quickcam IM 2.0 is a beuty inside and out. Rightsound technology makes the built in mic a pleasure to use. Sleek design makes it a honor to have on your monster and video / picture quality far surpassing its price, 20$

The Quickcam Communicate STX 2.0 is in the middle range of cam's. For a price that wont send you to the poor house 30$ you can get a great cam with impressive quality and performance.

If you have a high end desktop and deep pockets I recommend the Quickcam pro 4000. I currently do not sell them but I have sold a few hundred pieces and they are a AWESOME cam. 1.3 mega pixel image, Auto face tracking, and crystal clear video. It's well worth the 55$ if you can afford it.

The Quickcam Fusion is the king of its class, killer design and unbeatable features including; Rightsound and Rightlight technology. Logitech video effects makes caming a whole new hobby! Use 3D animated avatars that will mimic you facial expression, a big hit with kids! But it comes at a steep price 70$

If you have a laptop, there are a few notebook cam's out. They usually include a special case to transport the cam. You can also buy a cam like the messenger 2.0 flat panel but they are not designed to transport around like the notebook models.

The Logitech Quickcam for notebooks, a medium end cam retailing for just 30$

Quickcam for notebooks Deluxe fetures inteligant face tracking and advanced lighting so your allways in the picture. Retailing for 35$ its a good bargin!

For the best and nothing but the best get the Quickcam for notebooks Pro. With all the features of the previous cam's and many more, its a notebook version of the fusion and worth every penny if you can afford it's steep price; 70$

There are many generic and cheap camera model's out on the market which may be good if you dont want to spend much and may use the cam once or twice. But for a good, solid, dependable and long lasting cam I recommend only Logitech. I have sold over 5,000 Logitech cam's with maybe 20 of them not working.

Some cam's include a free headset which can be very useful and sometimes even necessary when holding video chat and talking as opposed to typing. While the cam usually has a built in mic, a headset will give you a lot better voice quality.

Many Logitech cam's include some advanced and nifty features. One is Auto Face Tracking where the cam will zoom in and follow motions. The newer and more expensive cam's include a advanced technology called Rightlight which is like a kind of camera flash and advanced color graphix and is very good for low light situations.

Remember that no matter how good the cam is. Your computer is a major factor, while the cam may be USB 2.0 but if you dont have USB 2.0 on your computer it wont make a difference. The same goes for your graphix card, computer speed and ram. And the computer of the person on the other end. And finally it all depends on the internet connection of both you and the person watching.

Stop me if you have had this experience also: you are lost in pure sound, typing away at your keyboard at the same time, enjoying quality music and getting some work done. You turn round in your chair to reach for a CD to save something on and your wall of sound is gone. You have been unplugged!

For those who still rely on plug-in headsets to enjoy the multi-media experience of their PCs and laptops the feeling is nothing less than being bound to your machine by an umbilical cord that restricts your every movement.

Enter the Bluetooth Headset 21st century experience provided by just about every Bluetooth headset fielded by Thriftycomputer. We understand the need for freedom away from your laptop or PC and the exhilaration felt when you can go across the room, browse through a stack of books, find the right one and get back to your desk all without missing a beat of your favorite song.

When choosing a Bluetooth Headset there are certain criteria which come into play:

    Price

    Styling

  • What does your cell phone say about you?

Posted on July 29, 2008 by David

Cell phones, like the clothes we wear, have the ability to broadcast a powerful message about us. A recent study carried out by the Interactive Advertising Bureau on behalf of its members showed that depending on what we pull out of our jacket pocket the moment that ringtone rings we can be judged by our colleagues, friends and even those who casually happen to notice us.

Based on a survey of over 30,000 online users the following emerged:

Blueberry Pearl – Power player and heavy hitter. The cell phone of choice of the corporate junkie who takes the office with him. Mark of success and status item of corporate board climbers.

Palm TREO 650 Smartphone – up-and-coming businessman. Not yet a Blueberry league but definitely one to take seriously. Travelling salesmen and self-made businessmen definitely go for this one.

Sony Ericsson W600I Walkman – the phone of choice of party animals. This one is for those who cannot be parted from their music no matter what. A mobile sound system as much as a phone this shouts out that you are fun, fun, fun, ready to drop everything and play hard at a moment’s notice.

Motorola MotoRazr V3XX Grey – the traditional toy of the slick and the clued up. Take this baby out of your pocket and it screams nightlife, bars, parties and a knowing lifestyle that knows few limitations. This is definitely a lifestyle choice phone and the equipment of choice for bad boys and girls.

LG KE770 SHINE – The phone that straddles two worlds. Slick and sophisticated yet tough and rugged. Those who have this phone are men and women who are comfortable in most places and want to send a message that they are their own person choosing to be where they are.

Nokia 7370 TRIBAND GSM Cell Phone – This baby is the choice of echo warriors everywhere. Men and women who have this phone are more likely to respect the planet, recycle their rubbish and use text and email and digital storage over paper.

The point is that whichever phone you get the choice depends on your inclination and reflects a little of our lifestyle. Our cell phones are unlocked, feature-packed, up to the moment and, most important, they come at unbeatable prices.

So check us out. Experience the freedom of an unlocked phone and enjoy the experience.

  • Unlocked mobile phones help you look cool

Posted on July 29, 2008 by David

You are in a cool spot of town enjoying a drink with some friends when your mobile phone goes off. You reach into a pocket or a bag to take it out. At that moment what happens next will depend exactly on the kind of phone you reach in and take out.

Have something that looks like a brick and gives the impression that it belongs to a museum and whatever hard-won effect in the cool stakes you had managed to create up to that moment will evaporate in an instant. More than that, the mobile phone you take out has the power to enable others to make judgements about you.

This is why a cool, unlocked mobile phone at the right price can give you the ability to send a strong powerful message to anyone who sees it without breaking the bank. The reason it needs to be unlocked is that only an unlocked mobile phone such as the ones sold by ThriftyComputer gives you the freedom to escape the slavery of being bonded to a single carrier.

It’s your phone, you decide who you want as your carrier. Buy it, sign up for the service and go from there. Careful you don’t pay over the odds. At ThriftyComputer we specialise in offering unlocked phones which combine great style and great prices. That way your cheap mobile phone will be cheap in price but not on looks.

Once you have a phone that’s unlocked you can just drop the SIM card of your carrier in and away you go.

So check out the many unlocked cell phones we have to offer at great prices and enjoy a thorough, 21st century lifestyle experience.
